Manifest, Yoga, Dance and Let Go
Some weeks ago I registered with a friend for a special yoga practice called “Holistic Dance Flow”. I was curious about how we can integrate dance in a yoga practice. The description of the class was interesting as it described how we were going to tap into our inner strength, fears, worries and blockages. It did not require any dance experience, so I decided to get out of my comfort zone and try it.
This past Saturday, I participated in the dance infused yoga practice and it was truly an enriching experience. As promised, we started the practice by manifesting our intentions and becoming aware of those things that are not serving any purpose in our lives and we want to let go of. We then moved to practice a yoga flow where we reaffirmed our intentions as we moved from one yoga pose to the other, then followed by a dance flow to let go of our fears and burdens. The instructor guided us through these movements with ease. We ended with a meditation directed at letting go of whatever is preventing us from living an abundant, peaceful and happy life.
The feeling of joy and liberation experienced as I moved freely through each dance movement was blissful. I moved and danced without any mind limitations, self awareness or judgement. It was a mindful moment where I was flowing with the music in perfect harmony, freedom and joy. What an amazing and liberating feeling!
We live from one day to the next in auto pilot mode and inside our minds. We go from one activity to the other, from one place to the other, and from one instant to the other without realizing that life is happening without even noticing it. We take life so seriously that we forget to put our hearts in what we do and that there is space for joy in our lives. We need to be more present and grateful, and open our hearts to allow our inner child to manifest. We can allow that inner child to laugh, to play and especially to dance our burdens away.
Thank you @laurayogabliss for sharing your passion for yoga and dance with us.
Namaste…
